Acrylic Painting Workshop | Beautiful Orchids
The perfect Christmas gift for a friend or family member, or a lovely opportunity to treat yourself to a creative afternoon.
Date: Saturday 23rd January 2027
Time: 12pm–3:30pm
Venue: Great Ayton Methodist Church
Address: High Street, Great Ayton, Middlesbrough, TS9 6NF
Spend a few hours painting a beautiful orchid in acrylics, with plenty of guidance along the way.
I'll take you through the painting step by step, breaking the process down into simple, manageable stages. We'll explore colour mixing, delicate brushwork, light and shadow, and building up layers to capture the beautiful shapes and colours of an orchid.
Rather than simply copying a finished painting, you'll learn techniques and ways of observing that you can take away and use in your own artwork. We'll look at how to simplify shapes, create depth and develop confidence when approaching a new painting.
With 14 years of teaching experience, I make the process easy to understand while encouraging you to develop your own individual style. The workshop is suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced artists who would like to develop their painting skills.
All high quality art materials are provided, so you just need to turn up ready to paint.
Tea and a selection of cakes will also be provided, giving us time to paint, learn, have a chat and enjoy a relaxed creative afternoon together.
You'll leave with your own finished orchid painting and, more importantly, new skills and techniques you can use again and again.
Looking for a thoughtful Christmas present? Why not give someone an experience rather than another gift to unwrap? This workshop is a lovely opportunity for a friend, partner or family member to enjoy a few hours of creativity, either on their own or together with you.
A beautiful painting to take home and a creative experience to look forward to in the new year.
