Tonight’s Great Ayton Art Club session was a really good one, with everyone getting stuck into experimenting and trying something a little different.
We worked with wet ink on wet paper, allowing the colours to blend and move freely, creating some really beautiful and unexpected effects. Once the ink had dried, we then refined the images using pens over the top, bringing in more detail and definition.
We also explored how to intensify colour by layering inks over the first wash once it had dried, building up depth and richness in the work.
It is definitely a process that takes a bit of practice, but everyone embraced it, and it is something we will come back to and develop further in future sessions.
